Manhole cover in Kladno, Czechia

A pavement of rough stone cubes surrounds this circular specimen, which bears the distinctive symbol of crossed hammers, a traditional mining emblem. The word 'KLADNO' is clearly stamped underneath, suggesting its geographical origin and possible connection with the industrial history of the region. The Institute of Lidology would certainly appreciate this example of functional design with a local narrative, dating from 1992.
