In the centre of the brick paved area is a square specimen whose surface bears the inscriptions 'PEILBUIS' and 'APELDOORN', indicating its geodetic function. The geometric design with central holes and radial arms is typical of surveying equipment. The surrounding pavement shows signs of normal wear and vegetation encroachment, which is characteristic of these urban artifacts.
