Manhole cover in Nara-shi, Japan

This specimen clearly depicts a deer with a spotted coat, surrounded by a rich floral composition, probably peonies. A stylized floral motif is found in the center, while Japanese characters 汚水 are visible at the bottom, indicating its function and aesthetic focus. The Institute of Lidology would classify this find as an excellent example of regional art used in urban infrastructure.
