Manhole cover in Osnabrück, diocese, Lower Saxony, Germany

The design on the lid is simple: a standing wheel with six spokes. The wheel representing the city of Osnabrück is black, while that of the diocese is red. The wheel refers to the biblical account of God’s chariot as described by the prophet Ezekiel.

De voorstelling op de deksel is ongecompliceerd: een staand wiel met zes spaken. Het wiel van de stad Osnabrugge is zwart van kleur, dat van het bisdom rood. Het wiel of rad verwijst naar de Bijbelse notitie van de wagen van God door de profeet Ezechiël.
