Manhole cover in Vodňany, Czechia

A radial grid pattern, apparently made of cast iron, surrounds a dark, empty hole in the middle of the rough asphalt surface. This specimen, lacking its original hatch, reveals a deep shaft beneath, a fascinating case of missing identity for the Institute of Lidology. The rusted patina indicates long-term exposure to the weather.
