Manhole cover in Antwerpen, Flanders, Belgium

The inscription "SANITARY SEWER" and the year 1976 clearly appear on the surface of this specimen, indicating its primary function and the time of installation. The edges of the hatch are flanked by small circular projections that add structural contrast to the text and also serve as an anti-slip feature. The Institute of Humanology would certainly appreciate this example of early functional aesthetics.

Institut Lidologie by jistě ocenil tuto ukázku rané funkční estetiky.
